What a wonderful response we have had to the “Fastest Downhill Marathon” Kaapsehoop, Nelspruit, 5th November 2016
A total of 23 rooms have been reserved at the Road Lodge, Nelspruit. The reservations have been made for two night- Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th November 2016. Please would you confirm with Craig Bannan, 082 331 6248, should you not be staying the two nights , so the rooms can be released.

Road Lodge , Nelspruit at R610,00 per room per night . Please ensure that you notify the Road Lodge, if you are going to arrive later than 18h00 on Friday evening or they will release the room. Road Lodge Nelspruit, 013 741 1805,Cnr Madiba Drive and Koorsboom Street,off N4, Nelspruit.
Friday -Race numbers can be collected from the Mbombela Stadium, between 10h00- 20h00. Bus tickets can also be purchased at R50,00 and leaves from the Mbombela Stadium. It is recommended to take the bus as the road up to Kaapsehoop is narrow and extremely congested on race day.
Saturday line-up
Runners – The Road Lodge will not serve their buffet breakfast until 07h00, but do offers a Continental “breakfast pack”, which you need to order in advance of arriving. The breakfast pack includes the following:- 1 x Juice,1 x Croissant, 1 x energy bar,1 x youghurt,1 x fruit salad,1 x boiled egg,1 x sausage. Price to be advised as of 01 October.
Buses – leave from the Mbombela Stadium for Kaapsehoop at
03h30- for the 42,2km
04h00-for the 21,1km
05h00-for the 10km
The stadium is about 12 minutes from the Road Lodge.
Supporters – They serve breakfast for the supporters- 07h00 to 09h00.
The Stadium also normally has a variety of “ bushveld food” stalls.
There is a Wimpy at the Halls Stall which is 3 minutes away from the stadium that opens early.
Saturday Night Dinner -for runners and supporters alike!
We had a wonderful evening last year and have chosen the same restaurant again- Cicada Restaurant, directly opposite the Road Lodge .Shop 5D, Sonpark Centre, Faurie Street, Nelspruit 013 741 1751.Cicada is a relaxed restaurant with great variety of food.Suggested plan:17h00 meet for a drinks and an early dinner at 18h30 for all the weary souls. Please would you let Craig know, 082 331 6248 if you wish to join us for dinner , so we can make a reservation. This meal is for your own account.
