Who we are
Bedfordview Country Club Athletics ("the club", "we") is a running and triathlon club based at Bedfordview Country Club, Johannesburg. We are the responsible party for the personal information you give us through this website.
What we collect
- Your name, email address, cellphone number and address when you create an account, buy something or contact us.
- For members: date of birth, gender, athletics licence number, running school, emergency contact and, where Central Gauteng Athletics requires it for a new licence, your ID or passport number. ID numbers are stored encrypted.
- Order and payment records. Card payments are processed by PayFast; we never see or store your card details.
- Website analytics, only if you allow analytics cookies.
Why we use it
To run your membership and athletics licence, fulfil orders, keep you safe on club runs, send you information you asked for and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We only send club news if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
Central Gauteng Athletics and Athletics South Africa for licences, PayFast for payments, and our hosting and email providers, who process data on our behalf. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
Membership and order records are kept for as long as required for accounting and athletics administration, normally five years. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to us processing it. Email info@bedfordviewathletics.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
