JEPPE LONG RUN ON WEDNESDAY

Jeppe will be doing their long club run on Wednesday 1st May (public holiday) from Jeppe Quondam Club starting at 05h00 – 55 or 60km.

If you are attending - Please message Sean on 082 322 2377 so he can give some indication of numbers from BCC

Run over a 1 to 3 laps over a18km route with fixed seconding points every 3km.

The route is safe and generally traffic free and allows runners to run their own pace without worrying about getting lost, and the seconding point at the club allows you to use toilet facilities and change kit etc if necessary.

The fixed seconding points also allow you to have any special food or drink that you may need at these points.

Food such as potatoes, bananas, oranges, chips, sweets, biscuits, nuts water and cold drinks will be supplied at the seconding points.

Please take note of the following:–

  • Please arrive at Jeppe Quondam Club at 04h45 on Wednesday morning for pre run briefing.
  • Club Kit is compulsory and if you invite friends from other clubs they must wear club kit.  This is all about safety in ensuring that we look after all runners doing our long run.
  • Cost of R100 per runner to be paid on the morning of the race.
  • Every lap goes back to Jeppe Quondam and there is a seconding table at the club entrance and you can use toilet facilities etc and then go out on your next 18km lap.
  • Route is 3 x coaches route of 18km = 54km and those wanting an extra 5km will go back out and do the 5km Essexwold loop using the seconding point in Fletching and the company of slower runners.
  • Safety – we will have cyclists leading the front runners and following the slowest runners to ensure safety.
  • This is not a “race” – its all about time on the legs – run easily and ENJOY the day!
  • Food and refreshments and showers are available after the run. Take the opportunity for some “chill time” after a good run.
  • There will be four Sports Massage Therapists at the finish to massage your legs……massages will last between 10-15 minutes.
